Herzog Dietrich von Vogelsang
fallen in Fall Crown Tourney A.S. XLIII

The light of his world and the queen of his heart,
The lady from whom he will never depart —
Fair Adrianna, as bright as a rose,
For her will the poet-knight take on all foes.

Brave knight of Thuringia, crusader renowned,
His journeys have led him to most holy ground,
But always his heart turns its face to the west,
The love of his daughters swells deep in his breast.

Three times he has borne Caid’s mantle of blue,
A pledge to the people he hopes to renew.
He enters the field with a purposeful stride
To bestow golden roses upon his sweet bride.

From cheerful Þorfinnr comes challenge the first
But quickly the Viking’s bright fortunes reverse.
Lord Christian von Eiland comes next to the field;
On this Wheel of Death he is soon forced to yield.

Sir Ragnar emerges from castle argent
Anastasiia’s consort death cannot prevent.
Francisc fights for Seanach, his dear lady wife,
But his quest for the crown costs the Condé a life.

Deceptively slow, Sven cannot be ignored;
Defeat is the sound that comes straight from his sword.
Skallagrim’s lightning bolts strike Dietrich’s helm
But the black boar of Rome does not duke overwhelm.

Sir Mons von Goarshausen, a fighter who sews,
Takes a knee under rain from the crusader’s blows.
Again come the twenty-three bolts of gold light
And again Skallagrim bows to Dietrich’s fierce might.

The last two still standing are Dietrich and Sven,
The finals see combat between them again.
A flurry of swordplay marks tourney’s ninth round
As Caid’s newest prince sends the duke to the ground.

The light of his world and the queen of his heart,
The lady from whom he will never depart
Fair Adrianna, as bright as a rose,
In her love has Vogelsang found sweet repose.

Natalya de Foix
...Insofar as Duchess Natalya de Foix has a formal persona, she was at one time a 15th century noblewoman who was born in Spain and moved to France, but now she suspects she is probably a wealthy traveler who spends most of her time in China.
